DREAMING OF.... ELVIS AT TARA?

After that heavy Italian meal, it was really more of a nightmare, but last night I dreamed that a re-make of Gone With the Wind had been found. The new film was called Viva La Confederacy and it starred:

Elvis Presley as Rhett Butler
Ann-Margret as Scarlett O'Hara
Troy Donahue as Ashley Wilkes
Connie Stevens as Melanie Wilkes
Raquel Welch as Belle Watling
Rose Marie as Mammy
Selma Diamond as Prissy
Wally Cox as Big Sam
Oh, I tell you, it was a nightmare! It must have been the eggplant......

Let's wake up FlickChick.
She's having a nightmare, poor thing!

  1. Way to go Ms. FlickChick, I think you're definitely on to something totally boffo here. Or, would have been had the powers at be back in the day seen fit to tentpole something like this for all those tripping and falling somewhere out there in the dark. Meanwhile, great can't miss casting from top to bottom. But, what really sends it into the total ultra-must-see big screen stratosphere is Selma Diamond as "Prissy." And, not just because some of us can't help but be perpetually attracted to the constant allure of her endlessly entertaining vocal tones. But still, that's as good a place as any to otherwise describe what would be going on here. As always, or, something like that.

  3. Well, thank you John. If only they got this cast together - a summer replacement special, at the very least!

BTW, I wanted to let you know that I had to re-post my article on Kay Francis and lost your comment. If you want to re-post feel free, I just didn't want you to think I had ignored your comment.
    Again, super GWTW take.....
